Hey all -- I just posted on the bipolar forum about this but figured I would here too:
I'm diagnosed bipolar 1 with psychotic features and have had my share of hallucinatory experiences that have increased in the past year or so. When I was really manic the hallucinations were frightening or mesmerizing to the point where I would end up staring at a wall for an hour watching the patterns change. Things are not as bad now that I am medicated (I was not at the time) but I still have what I call benign visual disturbances on a daily basis. My mood is far from stable right now (in a moderate mixed state) and I have an appointment next week for med adjustment. Have other people experienced hallucinations in states other than full-blown mania? Is this maybe typical in a mixed state? Or perhaps I am incorrectly identifying my moods. Any input would be appreciated! I have hallucinations almost every day. Does this sound familiar to anyone? |

The difference in Schizoaffective is you experience psychotic symptoms outside of manic or depressed episodes and I think at the very least for 2 weeks straight
