I was talking to my doctor the other day and he told me he thinks I'm borderline bipolar and borderline schizophrenic. From our other conversations what I think he means is if I ever completely stop all medications then I will have an episode or whatever. I have had two, once when I was 16 and then again when I was 21.

My mother was diagnosed bipolar + schizophrenic years ago and my brother was diagnosed schizophrenic though he was on drugs. So is schizoaffective the term I should use, the place I should post under??

I think that if you are schizoaffective bipolar type, then utilizing both the schizoaffective forum and the bipolar forum will do you good. that is what i do. There is also support chats for both.
Thanks for this!

Right now im dx with bipolar w/ psychotic features but i believe it to be schizoaffective. i got a new pdoc though and have only seen her like 3 times, i see her every 2 weeks. (my previous pdoc did not listen to me at all ever). However i use the schizophrenia and psychosis forum along with the bipolar forum. The schizoaffective forum can be sleepy sometimes.
