Hello

I'm new here, although I have been reading your posts for a couple of years.

I wanted to join in the chat, but I have to make 5 whole posts first! One down 4 to go!

So, if anyone would like to introduce themselves and tell me a bit about themselves (mentally or personally - I don't mind!) it would be great to hear from you all.

Hope you are all staying well

Playing any good video games at the moment? What sort do you like?

Do you make art then? I'd love to be artistic but unfortunately I'm just not

Anyways, thank you for the reply

Currently just sim city, hay day because I'm stuck to tablet games. I like online role playing games. I pant and color premade objects like pottery.

Sim city is addictive :P If you like rpg's a realm reborn (final fantasy) is really good, I'm playing it at the moment.

Kl, painting must be a good thing to focus your energy on if you ever have too much of it

mannnnn, i love sim city. i haven't been able to find it since it came preloaded on like windows '98 or something. i've been playing sims freeplay on my phone a loooot recently... :}

anyway, maddeningmonkeys, hi.
i've had this diagnosis officially for 10 years. i do not take medications or go to therapy, currently. it's been this way for about 6 years. i struggle a lot, daily. i have decided i will focus on my education rather than the things swirling in my head. what kinds of things do you do to cope with sza? and welcome to the forums, i spend some time in chat. not so much as i used to. see you around!

I'm sorry you are without meds or therapy. Is that by choice? Must be hard coping. I'm focusing on my education too at the moment, I also play an instrument which helps sometimes.

If you ever fancy a chat either of you feel free to pm me, and hopefully I will see you both in chat at some point

Hello! Welcome to the forum!

I'm Blue_Bird, you can call me Blue for short or Bird.

I was diagnosed with Schizoaffective Disorder almost exactly a year ago on my 20th birthday. I still have trouble believing in this diagnosis. My doctor and I are constantly in having the discussion that goes in circles:
Me: "I don't have this disorder, I don't have any symptoms"
Pdoc "You don't have any symptoms because you're on medicine"

Anyway, I hope you enjoy your time here

Welcome to PC! How the heck are ya?

I've had this diagnosis for about two years now and lived with it undiagnosed for about eleven years. Once I was honest with my doctors about what I was experiencing they were able to diagnose me easily. I haven't been on for a while since I tend to isolate myself a lot, but I'm trying to push myself to socialize a bit more. I'm on disability right now and trying to find my way.

I hope that PC treats you well!

Hi Bluebird and TheHours.

Thank you for your replies and I hope you're both well!

Bird, I used to do similar, but with I'm well now it might have been a one off, stop taking meds, oops! The hours, don't isolate yourself that's not good, come speak to us! lol :P

Hi! My illness runs in the fam. *so lucky* My mother has OCD and was diagnosed bipolar and paranoid SZ, my brother just saw a psychiatrist yesterday for the first time because he's hearing voices, can't focus, has OCD, anxiety, don't know his diagnosis yet but I talked to him and we've had similar experiences.

Hi,

SmilesandCries I play piano, what are you studying? It must be very hard coping, I hope it all goes well.

C2, sorry to hear it's a family thing. Guess that makes it easier to cope in some ways, but a lot harder in others.
