I was diagnosed Schizoaffective about a year ago. Prior to that, my diagnosis was Bipolar (and I just NEVER talked about the psychoses, but it was definitely there). I've struggled through 30+ different meds since 2004. The meds I'm on now are certainly the best combination I've ever been on, but it's certainly not perfect.
I'm still learning about Schizoaffective Disorder. Here are the questions I have: 1. Do relapses happen at random, even with the "right" med combination? Has this happened to you? Do you have a plan for if/when it does? 2. If I'm still hearing things, is it safe to assume the meds aren't "right" yet? Is "close" good enough? I'm not looking for medical advice, just personal experiences or links to sources on the internet that address either issue above. I know I need to talk to my Psychiatrist about these issues, but my appointment isn't until June 24th, and I'm really struggling right now. Thank you for your time. |

Sorry I haven't been around.
1. Relapse happen with me. I have a crisis plan of when things are not well for me. Everything from taking a nap to going IP. Close is good enough for me. With therapy I'm learning to accept and move passed the slight symptoms I still have.
