I have believed that some brains have more than one mind in them. My voices have completely different mindsets than mine, so I had to conclude that they were separate from me. So many people believe that everyone has only one mind, & that the other voices in the brain have to be hallucinations. I am so worn out trying to deal with all of it & getting nowhere, except it continually gets worse. So I'm considering the possibility that all of it is not really there. Maybe the brain has been tricking me, to entertain itself? Like when we dream all kinds of things when we're asleep. Sometimes we wake up from these dreams feeling we really were someplace & the people there were so real. But, unless there is such a thing as our spirits leaving the body for a while, they are only dreams, which are not mental illness. Are they?

I used to enjoy learning things about new research, regarding the workings of the human brain, that has been done using still-newish fMRI technology. (It's been a few years now since I actively pursued this.) But one thing that stood out for me was that neuroscientists who study these sorts of things say much more of who we are, and what we do, is controlled by areas of the brain to which we have no conscious access than we would typically imagine. So, from my perspective, a lot of what we experience mentally as well as emotionally probably has to do with material that is stored in non-conscious areas of our brains. At least that's my personal "take" on experiences such as you describe.

That's absolutely great reporting, @Skeezyks! Just yesterday I was reading about functional (f) stuff in the brain. I hope I will find a really up-to-date doctor for my mind, when covid is gone.

@Breaking Dawn I don't know if you've had Covid or not. (I haven't... at least not yet.) But there was an interesting article in our local newspaper today regarding the long-term effects on the brain of having had Covid 19. Here's a link to an on-line article on the subject:

COVID Increases Risk for Long-Term Brain Disorders, New Study Finds

It sounds as though this is going to become a serious future concern.

Thank you, @Skeezyks. Just finished reading the article. I've been vaccinated, but haven't been tested. As far as I know I haven't had covid. But they say some people get very mild or no symptoms, so I don't know. Also, they are saying that some of the cases were vaccinated. I clean my hands with rubbing alcohol after leaving the store, & I still wear the mask. I hardly ever go anywhere, just when I have to. What more can we do?
