Hi decarabia. I don't have any particular experience in this area, but I thought you might like to read the story of Michael Crawford:

Living with Schizoaffective Disorder, Part 3

Living with Schizoaffective Disorder, Part 2

Living with Schizoaffective Disorder Part 1

Just a thought on medicines. Everyone reacts differently. Most psychiatrists try medication and if it does not work try something else.

Thanks CANDC for your useful link. Even if my pathology is a little different from schizoaffective disorder it was an interesting reading 📖
In fact these two psychiatric illnesses share some symptoms. To be very simplicistic Schizoid personality disorder presents the negative symptoms of schizofrenia...

As far as I'm aware, there isn't any specific medication route for SPD. It's mostly going to be addressing your particular concerns. One may try antidepressants for things like the lack of motivation and anhedonia and if you have any depression. If you have some level of psychosis they may add in an antipsychotic. I think often they don't even use medications and just go for therapy. Therapy is usually long-term for SPD.

Personality disorders are not generally treated with medication. Psychotherapy is the indicated treatment for personality disorders.
