I have been taking Abilify 5mg as well as Amisulpride 100 mg for nearly a week now. I feel tired and restless. I keep waking up at night. Even my eyes felt sore today. I cannot rest without trying to work out why I have suffered a setback and my psychiatrist has suggested to try a combination of drugs - I used to just be on Amisulpride tablets. Help.

I'm not on Abilify but know that some of the side effects that are common are restlessness and insomnia. Some say these side affects lessen over time and some just switch to another antipsychotic because they couldn't deal with the side effects. If the side effects prove bothersome it would be best to talk to your pdoc for any adjustments or changes.

I would recommend looking up the side effects for yourself so you can see the whole list in it's entirety. For some abilify may cause insomnia and restlessness but for me it takes that away. I get over fatigued. Remember every pill is different for everybody. If you can't take the sideeffects try something else. The good thing about abilify is it has limited weight gain where as other anti-psychotics have more of that effect. So there's a give and take going on here. It's all on what you can deal with and what is important to you. Give it time too it may pass.

Love and Hugs,
Tara
