Hi, I'm new to this part of the forum.
I was wondering( I think I know the answer) but if you could help me? I've been labeled as pychosis and my doc keeps asking me if I "think anyone is out to get me" and I never answer the question as yes because I'm afraid he will say well you have Schiz. Is this a issuse for Schiz? Or is there any other conditions that this could be? Please I need to know before being truthful with him so I can get used to the idea before hand so I don't run screaming from his office. Thankyou |

Hi there,
There can be other conditions, I think, in which people think someone is out to "get them". I have had this during times of mania with my Bipolar 1. But yes, with paranoid schizophrenia, many think that others are out to "get them". Please try to be as honest as possible with your doctor when describing your symptoms. Don't be afraid of being labelled as something, what matters most is getting help for the issues you have. ![]() |

From my personal experience with the hospital system (I've been admitted 6 times, and am in a hospital right now), they only admitted me if I was a danger to myself or others. However, if they think the illness is serious enough, I'm sure they'd admit for that too.
Just be completely honest with your doc. He may recommend that you go into hospital. And if you don't want to, you don't have to. But really, the hospital isn't such a bad thing. They treat you well, and provide you with medication options that could end up helping a lot. |
