Today, at night time, and also yesterday, I heard voices telling me they would get me back for my stupid actions from the past. I often feel like the bad guy because the voices taunt me and give reasons for why they think I am a horrible person. I feel bad because I believe in them sometimes. I don't know how they will go away or when will they do so. I feel bad. I want to be a productive citizen, but the voices stand in my way, or maybe some of my stupid actions from the past has caused all this. I continually try, knowing there isn't anything else worth pursuing, but to be a better person. How do I get rid of the voices or disallow them from taking forefront in my mind so I can concentrate and pursue goals that will allow me to be a functional member of society?

Just want to let you know how this is so hard to deal with. It is a scary feeling to hear the voices. Although mine have sort of stopped, well the hurtfull ones or the ones telling me to hurt myself. I am here if you would like to talk.
Thanks for this!

I'm really sorry you're going through this. Everyone has done stupid things in the past. And we'll all do stupid things in the future. It just means we're human. Most of us don't have voices taunting and accusing us, though. I can't imagine what that must be like. It would be nice if they'd remind you about the good stuff you've done.

I'm glad you're continuing to try in the face of difficulties. I hope someone here can suggest ways to move the voices to the back burner.

If I remember correctly, you were reducing the dosage on your medication a few weeks ago. How's that going? Have the voices gotten worse since the dosage was lowered? Did the medication help at all?

I heard an interview with the founder of a voice hearer support group recently. She commented that some people who join her group have to reduce their medications a bit so the voices will increase and they can learn coping strategies. So maybe this is a bit of a gift for you, even if it's hard right now. Over the long run, learning coping skills may be better.
Thanks for this!

I feel better on a lower dosage, but the quantity and quality of voices are still the same. I'm less tired and more motivated to perform better. I still need to learn better coping skills. Overall, a lower dosage has done me some good.
Thanks for this!
