I always get these morbid thoughts. Well, I've been getting them almost all my life. I just always like to think about dead people, graves, blood etc. Don't get it confused with anger because I'm not angry at anyone. I mean, sometimes I get angry, but my morbid thoughts are never angry like I'm mad and I wanna kill somebody. But I often feel good when I get thoughts about people dying and whatnot. I mean, I like to watch movies about murders or zombies coming out of the ground...that kind of stuff. When I'm swimming in a lake, I like to think of the water sucking somebody down and not letting them up. But I never feel revengeful or angry and I never think these thoughts about any specific person or group of people. So idk. It really doesn't bother me.

I was dx with Schizophrenia back in 2008, but like I said these thoughts came waaaay before that. Do you think it has anything to do with my illness or is it completely separate?

I think you'd be surprised to find that most of us have "inappropriate" thoughts at times. As long as you're not acting on them, they're not hooked with strong negative emotions, and they don't disturb you, they're probably not pathological.

You might be interested in reading a bit about Pure-O OCD (Purely Obsessional OCD). One theory has it that Pure-O OCD develops when people have these kinds of bizarre thoughts (which many or most of us do), and they get distressed by them. In their efforts to control or stop the thoughts, they get obsessed with them and their anxiety level rises. ("What we resist, persists.")

It sounds like you have a healthy relationship with your thoughts. A lot of people enjoy horror/zombie movies. Otherwise there wouldn't be a whole genre of them. They don't make movies that no one wants to watch.
