And why is that important?

Because today is the first day that my son will be left alone to supervise nine 9 year olds all by himself. I thought he was going to have a panic attack last night just thinking about it.

And what's that got to do with rain?

Because they want him to bake cookies with his group today. (Apparently the recipe includes crushed Life Savors.) He told me the other group leader got out of his assigned "project" (making baskets out of old newspapers) by suggesting the kids might rather play outside.

But it's raining today, so I guess they'll be stuck inside, and my poor son will be stressing about making cookies out of crushed Life Savors.

I do hope today goes well and that your son doesn't stress too much. And as for the crushed life savor cookies, yuck! But hopefully the kids will like them to not give your son a hard time.
Thanks for this!

Hope it goes well. Kids often like cooking projects just because it's fun to make the mess. Whether the end result tastes good often doesn't matter. Hopefully he can just have fun with them crushing up the candies and making a sticky mess! If they turn out really gross, they can put some out in the rain to watch them "melt."
Thanks for this!

Well, I guess he survived his first solo performance. It's only Tuesday he works alone. All the other days he's scheduled to work with one or two other people.

His supervisor came and helped him out yesterday. They made the cookies and each kid got one. My son said he didn't taste them, so he doesn't know how they came out.

He's still so afraid something will go wrong and they'll fire him. I wish he could just relax and enjoy himself a bit. He's always waiting for the other shoe to drop.
