I sometimes get really horrible visions. Mainly about ppl I know getting hurt or killed. They are terrifying enough but now I'm getting sound FX too! I had this vision last night that someone was being stabbed and I could hear the knife and the squelching of the blood it was awfull!! Has anyone else had similar experiences??

I've only ever experienced that once, but it was during half psychosis, half pure O OCD. I started envisioning myself doing something really terrible & violent to myself in public with no provocation or reason. The thoughts sound intrusive in nature, but you should probably determine the source of the thoughts. Are they psychotic or obsessive?

I'm not sure. I do also hear voices, mainly inside my head but sometimes they come from outside my head and they can be very horrible and pursuasive. I am on tablets for it but they don't seem to be working lately

Hm. Do the visions feel like they belong to you or as if someone else put them into your head? Even when I envision something REALLY disturbing & unwanted, I can usually determine that it belongs to me. That is called an "intrusive thought" & is related to OCD. However, if the thought feels totally alien & like someone/something outside from yourself is trying to torment you, then it sounds related to psychosis. It's called "thought insertion", from what I understand. Feeling like an outside source is mucking about with your thoughts.
But seeing as you have unresolved issues with voices, as well, perhaps you can tell your pdoc about this worsening in symptoms & you can get them BOTH taken care of! Good luck with that. : )
Thanks for this!

They feel really alien to me. they just pop up out of nowhere when i'm not thinking about anything to do with the visions/images. they are quite disturbing. Maybe i should speak to my doctor about it. Thanks!
