A combination of medication and just getting a little older has caused the absence of those who used to keep me company. The little shadows that went whizzing by, the girl in the corner with red eyes, the voices in the subway in that alter dimension behind the wall.... theyre absent. I sense they are somewhere in the distance, maybe suffocating under the dark fog of medication, or lying in wait... i miss their company and I hope they don't feel abandoned.

I would never ever want them all to go away. I can't imagine the crushing loneliness I would feel.
I hope you are not too lonely in their absence.

I know how you feel. I miss the adventures I used to go on with Lily, one of my voices, but I don't miss the mean ones. I miss my stuffed animals talking to me. Now things feel so empty without them. I had no other friends. I'm thinking about stopping my meds just to get them back.

I would miss some of the voices to if they went away forever, although sometimes i do wish they'd be quiet.
Thanks for this!

I treat voices like people. Sometimes you have to tell them, "I'm sorry, I can't talk right now." And you should expect them to talk to you in a respectful manner. If they start yelling and cussing and saying hurtful things, it's important to tell them you won't listen while they're being mean and rude. But that doesn't mean you want them to go away forever and never be heard from again.
This is not always successful, but it's how I like to try to be, anyway.
Thanks for this!
