I get a lot of those. They're called "olfactory hallucinations". I usually smell either gasoline or fire, which causes the thoughts that my mother-in-law is trying to burn the apartment down. Lol

I've gotten the urine smell as well. Not on me, but throughout the house as my housemate has 4 dogs. I do need to add that the 4 dogs are completely housebroken. If I smell something, especially foul, I usually ask my housemate if he smells what I smell but he doesn't and so I tend to trust his judgement because he doesn't have a psychotic disorder.

Usually a med increase is warranted if I am symptomatic. If you are medicated, perhaps you should mention the urine smell to your pdoc and then he can adjust your meds accordingly.

I get the petrol smell! I lived in a building where the cooking gas was brought in cylinders, so it was really disconcerting for a while - the threat of an actual gas leak was pretty constant.

fish: That sucks! I remember one time I was right about a scent of gas... Evidently my neighbor's septic tank was leaking methane. EW!

I think this is one of those circumstances where I'd rather it be a hallucination, myself.

I've gotten metallic and smoke smells off other people. It led me to believe they had a candle for a heart and I had to snuff it out or else they would try to get me.

I've smelt blood and faeces before and other people around me said they couldn't smell it? It was vile! They must've all had a cold or something?! Either that or they were just lying to me!
