In the recent days I've lost all of my friends. It's either I've isolated myself from them (never my intention), or they've learned my Dx and split. I'm really starting to generally dislike people. The human race is responsible for many of my ills, and yet they continue to live their comfortable, numb, pathetic lives.
Where do I go from here. I don't want to be alone for the rest of my life, but at the same time it's very difficult for me to cope around people. |

Are you sure you've lost them all if it's only been a couple of days? I don't talk to my friends every day. I have one friend I'm very fond of who I only talk to like every 6 months or so.

people who are really your friends will come back around. sometimes they have other priorities for awhile, work, or family, or school, maybe even circumstances you don't know about. but that doesn't mean they're not still your friends. you might just check in with them, just to let them know you're still offering your friendship to them.
anyone who splits just because of your dx doesn't deserve to be your friend. you're the same person before you got the label, aren't you? sometimes it helps to try to be open to questions if people are unfamiliar with your dx. they might be scared off initially, but when they see you're the same you you've always been, hopefully they will overcome their own fear of the unknown. good luck to you, thank you for sharing this. |
