I sincerely hope not.

I read once that some people can make the voices stop by opening their mouths.

I have been taking Invega for a couple years now, and I don't hear the voices so often.
For me the voices were like a running commentary. It was like a movie in my head. Now I just hear a voice calling out my name. It's irritating, but I can deal with it.

Did you try it? Did it help?

I think I saw the open mouth thing on wikipedia, but I couldn't find it again when I looked for it. It talked about some part of the brain that they think voices come from, but I can't remember what part.

Can't help you with that. Maybe staying out of the hospital is a good goal?

Mine usually don't say anything important. Make random noises (though I can tell it's a voice & not a different sound), say my name, whisper/mumble things I can't understand, respond to random thoughts I'm having... But the voices in which they do these things is what's weird. Sometimes it sounds like my boyfriend which freaks me out when he's not present. One time it was Beetlejuice. Another it sounded like a really loud, booming baritone voice with metallic whirring as if it were a giant machine talking to me. And another one, who actually comes around often, sounds like a woman but she has a snake tongue & a rattle.

Even when I've heard them telling me to kill myself or something, I don't really feel influenced by them or anxious. They don't enforce it with fear or demeaning me... The one time I remember specifically, it was just "Psst, hey, kill yourself" over & over again. I just rolled my eyes & said "Yeah, sure, maybe after I take a nap. Will you shut up now?"

The voices I hear are random and just shout random things. Once a man's voice snuck up on me and whispered "Hey!" really loud in my ear while I was showering. It scared me and I screamed. I hear laughing sometimes, or just random things, but I don't hear them often. My biggest auditory thing is a phone ringing. Rings until I think I'm going to go crazy. But I haven't had that in a long time.

Yes, I would answer it. It would ring for hours. I would run to answer it, pick up and no one there. But, I was the only one that could hear it. The other people in my house, (my dad mostly, since it was just us most of the time,) never heard it ring. No one ever was there on the other side. This was long ago. But, occassionally, I will hear a phone ring. That phantom ring usually just once or twice, like in places where there are no phones. It makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up.

Now that iPhones can make that ring sound like a phone... I hate that! Those people with their iPhones ringing like phones... don't they know some of us are out in the world needing to know if the ringing is real? But, I will ask my husband, "Did you hear a phone just now?" As long as he hears it, I'm okay. Even if he gives me that "oh boy..." look...

Hahaa awwwwh poor thing. That sucks!! I used to get huge phantom "BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM" sounds in the kitchen as if it exploded. Sometimes multiple times a night, sometimes less often. And I heard the creature from the Grudge in the shower once... I don't ever recall crying from fear before in my life. I've got some weird paranoia about the shower that I can't explain, so that really sucked bigtime. Haha ****

Oh this reminds me... in June I think it was, I was in the kitchen and I heard a woman screaming in the living room. I ran to see what happened, but my mother-in-law and kids were just watching t.v. No one else heard it (and it wasn't the t.v. either. )

I have more visual hallucinations, actually.

Mine fluctuate. When I first started hallucinating, it was all visual. Then tactile & olfactory showed up. Then auditory came last. Though even when I was a little kid, I always thought I was hearing my family being brutally murdered through the air vents. Still happens to this day.

i hear voices but sometimes i think that it is just people around my trying to play tricks on me. I've had a woman's voice telling me that i needed to die. worst part of my life. but they dont really say things like that so much any more.

I found myself talking on a telephone, but there were no rings and I wasn't holding a phone. I've done alot of hallucinating as well. Visual (there was a shadowy figure walking by my bed), Olefactory (I smelled burning rubber) Tactile (there were tiny bugs in my hair that made my scalp itch) and Auditory (I'm still listening to loud ringing and America the Beautiful, looping round and round in my head.)
