Does anyone know if during a psychosis a person with schizoaffective disorder often will have grandiose delusions, such as having a god complex?

Grandiose delusions can occur with schizoaffective disorder as well as a god complex, although I've never personally experienced the god complex myself even though I have schizoaffective disorder.

when I'm manic i get like that. I usually come to the conclusion that I'm a demi-God or some kind of super solider, that I can't die and I can control things with my mind and will. I don't think there;s a set type of delusion for schizoaffective. all I know is graduous thoughts are more likely to happen in mania.
Thanks for this!

I would agree it's probably part of the mania in the bipolar aspect. I don't get a "god" complex exactly, but I get this thing where I think I'm incredibly powerful and once I thought I was some type of "chosen one" with magical powers. I don't have schizoaffective, just bipolar, but I think in that respect they can be similar.

Yes, it is possible during a manic episode and it is called a delusion of grandeur. Also, as to the schizophrenic-type symptoms of schizoaffective disorder - religious preoccupation often occurs, particularly in the early onset stages of the disease. Regardless of the "cause" - it is my understanding that antipsychotics best target these symptoms to alleviate them ... as many psychotics, particularly newer generation antipsychotics (e.g., Abilify, Geodon) are for Mania in bipolar type I (including psychotic features) as well as for treatment of schizophrenia. Take care...I'm simply a layperson, not medical advice, but have had some life experience, if that make sense.
