I think what brings me down the most is that most people I know and that I'm friends with never experienced what I have.. due to my illness. Do you guys ever feel this way and what do you do to overcome feeling this way?

i know this already. unfortunately a few people ive met over time has experience either getting involved with police or rehab. but all for drugs. i know theres people out there like me but i feel like its rare. and at that its rare to find someone having been to a psych ward for mental illness or been in police for mental health reasons. etc other stuff.

its stuff like that that makes me feel extremely unique...in a BAD way.

and then its kinda hard to find people who have had psychosis symptoms. etc and so on. ALSO some peeps are like "just ignore the voices" blah blah blah blah blah. f_ck you. k?

Yes, I feel this way about a lot of people in my life. Sometimes I wonder how the people I know would have done with my circumstances instead. Sometimes it makes me feel stronger because I feel I've survived a lot of things some people might not be able to handle.

I can relate to this. I combat it by reminding myself that my friends and acquaintances have unique experiences and emotions of their own that I will never know. Its condescending to them to imagine that they could never understand me. if I've already made up my mind that they can't, then I doom them to failure.

I don't know if I attract crazies or something but most of my friends have suffered with MI, mostly depression, but also OCD and anxiety, so are quite supportive. Few know I suffer with psychotic stuff, mainly because of my own prejudice. I sometimes wonder how others would cope if they had my issues, but I try to stop myself thinking those thoughts because they just fuel depression.
