I spoke to my CPN about my thoughts not going away and they are still disturbing me and she suggested seeing if more medication will help. I don't know about this as I hate meds at the best of times she suggested Olazapine along with the depo injection I'm on but last time I was on Olazapine it made me put loads of weight on I'm so reluctant about going on it again maybe I should ask my psych doctor to prescribe something else but what happens if I am not delusional? what if all this that i am thinking is real? *Sigh* I feel so confused right now...

Do you have anyone you can trust that you can talk to to help you to sort out if you are delusional or not, and whether it would be wise to take more medication?

There are other antipsychotics out there so if you want to avoid olanzapine/Zyprexa weight gain, which I think is perfectly understandable, you should definitely ask your doctor for something else.

All the best,

*Willow*
Thanks for this!

Mita, there are so many meds out there that you could try. I don't understand why your CPN wants to put you on one that causes you side effects. I'd definitely ask your psychiatrist about a new med--CPNs are good but psychiatrists know more about different meds--that's just my personal experience. I'm not knocking CPNs.......D.

I hated olanzapine too, and it started giving me a pot belly, which I totally dislike. It also made me sleepy yet when I tried to sleep I would get incredible jolts of energy. I heard that risperidone works well for voices and for thoughts not being my own, and it has worked wonders for me. I too used to have many thoughts that I wondered were real, it seems to have helped me manage a great deal. Its like it brought my realm of thinking to a normal level.
Thanks for this!
