Glad you're still around...was starting to worry when you weren't posting. It's been too quiet around here. I don't know what to tell you about your dad. My dad was a major alcoholic too he didn't change until the doctor told him he had pre-diabetes, then he switched from tequila shots to beer which at least takes longer to get drunk on. Anyway I don't know that you can change him it's one of those things you have to change for yourself. Maybe you can goto a group like Al-anon that supports family I think there is maybe even an adult children of alcoholics on this forum but I'm not 100% on that. They might have some better ideas to help your dad or even yourself in coping with it.

It takes a lot of courage to post what you did. Please don't feel bad for venting.

I didn't see the original post but I read SP's response so I kinda think I know sort of what's going on.

My dad's an alcoholic too. You're not alone in this. I'm really sorry you're feeling so scared. I delete my posts when I'm scared too.

I also didn't see what you said but just know it's totally okay to vent. We all need to do that once in a while. I understand about venting and then deleting a post, I've done it too.

I hope your dad is okay and that you're okay. I don't know much about living with an alcoholic.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
