I'm afraid of meds. I fear that they are brainwashing me with meds and theraphy. I don't want that. They want to change me. They don't like me. I talked to my shrink about this, he said to see my phychiatrist, I'm going to see her soon.

I don't think meds or therapy brain wash necessarily but I think both are a personal choice for many. Especially meds the idea of risk and reward needs to be weighed. If the meds help you it could be worth it temporarily but I am of the belief that meds are not necessary forever.

I think therapy is very useful but you have to feel comfortable with your therapist. And, again, I don't think it needs to be a permanent thing.

I think the most important thing anyone can do is become aware of things that cause distress in your life and then work to resolve those issues for overall wellness. Whichever road that is, even if it's self-help books, forums, or just learning self-awareness. Denial of a problem is really the worst thing for a person and the people around them. But, I don't think answers are the same for everyone and finding out own personal wellness and inner peace is the ultimate goal.
