I have been told I have hallucinations (seethings and hear things other people do not, especially someone who tells me what to do), paranoia and delusions (being sure a wolf is in my room even when i can see that there isn't one, stuff like that) but have also recently tested negative for thought disorders, psychosis, depression, and neurological disorders (been told/tested by a professional who as far as they have told me DOES believe these things are happening)my therapist says he trusts their opinion. I thought the definition of psychosis was having hallucinations and delusions?I also have really racing thoughts, and the other day kept trying to fill up a plate with water instead of a cup for like 10 minutes before I realized what I was doing and a lot of strange things like that have been happening. Im really upset that there is no cause/diagnosis and no body seems to know how to treat it and am worried that because of this people will think im lying and that things won't get better. Am looking for a second opinion but had to go through psychological testing to get those answers. Is expensive and can't do it again so am just looking for another psychiatrist. Has anyone heard of hallucinations, paranoia and delusions without thought/neurological disorder, psychosis or depression? What is it? Is the second opinion a good idea? What do I do if they agree with the tester? What do I do if they disagree - I don't want to stop seeing my current therapist? Any advice or opinions on what this could be, if you've heard of it before and what my next steps should be would really be mega-appreciated. Sorry it was so long. im new to this. Thanks. eva.

Yeah, not sure how you tested negative for psychosis...first for me there was no official test, I just talked to a psychiatrist for about an hour and that's what I got dxed with. So yeah look for a second opinion, maybe one that will rely on his or her own judgement and not a test. Now you can have hallucinations without psychosis and that can be due to medical conditions, so you know you need to get checked for brain tumors and epilepsy and that stuff.
