could i be schizophrenic? i see things (people, objects, places) that aren't really there, i hear voices that these people that i see are saying (these people that i see are 'speaking' with me and i reply back to them...), i sometimes even feel and smell things that aren't even there. i have scary thoughts of my heroes attacking me with objects such as knives, fists, etc.

It is always possible...... but you will never know until you seek the advice of a well trained T - for some of the things you mention I too have experienced and yet I am DID and PTSD.

Hi Audrah,

Welcome to PC. You just can't know until you go to a good Pdoc. A friend of mine has auditory and visual hallucinations, but he does not have schizophrenia. Other friends have them and do have it. You can't self diagnose and the right set of meds will help you a lot.

My very best to you,

January

How long has that been going on for you?

Have you talked to your doctor about it?

Has it started in your childhood? Does it base around anything specific like were you ever raped or beat?

no, i haven't talked to my docter about it yet.

and this has been happening ever since i was 5-7 years old. i'm guessing that it started due to the fact that when my mom came back home from california after about two years, i didn't have a very good relationship with her. i loved my father (who at the time did illegal drugs) so much, and my mother tried so damn hard to keep me away from him.

Yes sometimes that can happen, I suggest you go see a Psychotherapist or Psychologist.
