So, y'all know I don't have many hallucinations. But last night... this freaked me out.

So I opened the office door to say something to my husband. The office door enters into the kitchen. Our big dog was drinking from her bowl. There was so trash on the floor because it needs to be taken out (like boxes and such too big for teh trash can.) Anyway, right next to where she was standing (which is across the room,) next to the stove I hear this loud HISSSS. It was like a snake or a hissing beeetle hiss.

I turned and looked, she had turned around and it like took a second for it to connect that something was hisssing but I screamed, like really loud. Everyone was like, what? are you okay??? The dog didn't react at all (she's old,) and was just standing there. I told my husband about the hiss and he said it must have been the dog, she must have slipped on the box. But she's old and moves slow, she didn't look like she slipped. She's a big dog, probably about 70 lbs or so, if she was slipping I think she would have reacted more. This was like a LOUD hiss....

I decided to go with his explination so I didn't freak out my MIL (she thinks he have a deamon in the house again....) But.... what do you guys think?

Basically my thought on it is this---most people who have hallucinations at any given point will continue to have them at some level--I had a grand total of 2 over the last year but I still had them---pdocs are not worried about it at all----no meds needed. So lets just say it was a random hallucination---if so its unlikely to happen again because they are so rare for you. If it does happen again then maybe you can check into the demon thing---in the mean time are there any rituals you can perform to see if the demon might find somebody else's house more hospitable than yours you know just in case well its worth a shot right?

Thanks guys.

I know a lot of rituals. I think the thing I didn't say was my MIL has psychosis and it all revolves around demons and God. It's a very long story. Anyway, i do believe in those things, but at the same time I don't want to trigger her. You know what I mean? I can do a cleansing of the house again (it needs it.) But she was already talking about demons before I heard it, so I have to be careful what I tell her. I don't want to trigger her, it's not good when that happens.

I'm not worried if it was a hallucination. I mean, I get them here and there that's just me. But, I was just wondering what everyone thought, just for feedback.

Also I think I freaked out because the night before the noise I had a dream that the shadow man I hallucinate came up behind me and was strangling me for real. It was so scary I actually woke up. I turned to look behind me in the dark but he wan't there. It took me a long time to relax and go back to sleep. It was a really vivid dream.

Oh so I got my answer on this. It wasn't the dog slipper or a hallucination. The trash bag has something in it that if you bump it then it make this loud hissing noise (like air escaping from a bottle.) I think my husban didnt' hear it because he had his headphones on.

Haha. Isn't it fun to always have to question everything.

This reminds me of when I had 2 weeks of knocking noises only to realize they were in fact real after recording them---um yeah---this was of course after calling the pdoc in a panic. Sure I can laugh now but at the time I as really worried.

Yeah, I remember when you were having knocking. Ah well, it's okay. I can laugh because it is funny how I screamed. Even my 2 year old ran up to my MIL and said "Mommy scared." haha.

Oh man I can relate to this. I'll wonder if I'm hallucinating then I'll figure out, nope it was real just not what I expected and yeahhh. Fun stuff.
