so i have been going through some auditory hallucination which i think really blocked my thoughts. i was just kinda organizing my thoughts and it occurred to me how much my past nightmares which i have experienced during the height of my psychotic moments still remained in my memory and how much it bothered me. it has been over three years since i had those nightmares. if those nightmares have been bugging me for this long does it mean i am mentally weak?
i know i am bc of what i am going through but some nightmares bothering u for that long? I feel so weak! ![]() |

Luckily I don't usually remember my dreams plus I pretty much didn't sleep while psychotic so there's that but there is actually new research showing a tendency for kids with nightmares to develop psychosis later in life so it's likely there is a strong connection...I don't think you're weak at all....

You're not weak. One cannot control their dreams or nightmares, nor can they control the memory of them. I've had severe, lucid nightmares my entire life and while I've gotten used to it, there is always a lingering sense of panic and/or doom upon waking. Some things are beyond our control and this is one of those things.
