That's it I have read one too many articles written by pdocs and researches and journalists who use the word devastating to describe sz. Yeah it sucks but really the only other time I routinely hear the word devastating is with regard to natural disasters that destroy many lives and properties. So I think if people are going to give it that kind of weight maybe it's time to live up to it? If you could equate your sz to a natural force what would it be?

The goal for me is to swap in my head every use of the word devastating for the equivalent natural force when reading the article just for kicks....so it will go a little bit like

"Sz is a devastating mental illness" will be changed to "tropical storm sz strikes off the coast of ..."

Anyway just for fun what would you pick? I'm going to set up a poll but feel free to think outside the lines and comment below....

I picked tsunami because everything is fine la la la then huge insurmountable force comes along out of nowhere and everything has to be rebuilt....but it's not likely to occur again so that's a relief...

My psychoses so far are like lightning because they appear suddenly and make me feel powerful.

I would say mine are like earthquakes because you get a bit of a warning, a slight rumble deep down and then it hits with massive force and takes a while to rebuild.

I put flood because it comes and takes over everything, nothing else is relevant and I can't see the reality under the water, only the flood and then it just kinda stays there, everything drowned and in shambles but I don't see that until the flood starts to dissipate slowly...

I picked tornado because my psychosis is hard to predict and it destroys everything in its path in a very short amount of time.

I picked lightning for roughly the same reason you picked tsunami but for me sometimes lightning can strike out of nowhere without warning then as soon as it hits its gone.but then sometimes it can be accompanied by a full out storm that goes on for while with many strikes.its unpredictable.

I chose quicksand bc it was like I kept getting more and more and more paranoid. Then the dam broke and it was like a flood. But it was also like a tornado with the racing thoughts...So it was a lot.
