Does anyone else experience their brains turning every day noises into hearing voices?

Sometimes I accidentally leave a tap running and the sound of the water sounds like someone talking to me. Construction noises coming from outside muffled by my headphones often sound like people whispering around me. Sitting in the coffee shop hearing someone washing dishes sounds like people talking, but in my ears, not like the other conversations in the shop.

I wonder if people who have experienced psychosis are more susceptible to this.

This kind of thing used to happen to me quite a bit. Especially when I was in the shower I would hear muffled voices... it was very odd.

This was very common for me though I don't think I've noticed it as much on an AP.

I enter into various states of awareness and in some of them I have learned to perceive sounds, create sounds, merge sounds and various different states. In one state my attention focuses onto a sound and becomes merged to the sound and I can see that the sound comes from a source of sound where it is created from, at this place I can see all forms of sound in potential not yet formed. In the beginning states I learn to move the sound with my perception as if the sound is being created by my ears and not the instrument, the focus of my attention and inner awareness becomes the sound and as I shift my attention and perception of sound the awareness aligns into perception to match. For example when you can wsee that everything has awareness in it, meaning that it is alive, sound itself, then you can see music that sings directly to you. It is an ancient teaching that discovered that when new awareness activates within an aware being then their perception aligns to match. At this point you can control you awareness of 'what is sound' to have it become many things. I have at many times had the clear and distinct sounds of a creaking house form clear words to me that spoke of my awareness, I have bent one sound into a symphony of different notes many times, I have even left my bodies state of awareness to travel to a sound and become the sound itself. I can align people's voices to become other people's like a ventriloquist and I can create many forms of sound both or the inner consciousness and the outer consciousness. If you hold the same awareness of sound that you have of it, what you think it is and everything you know about sound then this will form your perception (experience).

This happens to me too. Mostly it happens when I'm in the shower, it sounds like people screaming and it's awful.

Its happened to me many times. Mostly in the shower or when it rains outside. I haven't lately but it has in the past. I guess my anti psychotic is working, since I haven't for awhile.

Is it a psychosis thing? Should I be worried? It happens regularly to me no matter how much and what medication I'm on. I guess I'm fine as long as I don't BELIEVE the voices are real?

Yes/no it's called a functional hallucination here is an article....the paper says it's rare obviously it's not but pdocs tend to believe anything is rare if they don't commonly ask about it such as hallucinations of music which is actually really common but considered rare...here is the paper..

Functional Hallucinations in Schizophrenia Responding to Adjunctive Sodium Valproate

I wouldn't worry at all...delusions are the most dangerous part to me...

my fridge speaks to me in an electric voice. I hear voices in the sparrows outside my window....only ever one at a time. I've heard music both instrumental and vocal. the voices are angelic.

I get this from the background hum of electrical appliances, the fridge especially. It sounds like it plays music - muffled, 80s hair-metal most commonly.
