I already have anxiety but I've been having mild hallucinations and sometimes I think I might hear things. I feel like I'm losing touch with reality sometimes. I think people are talking about me or saying horrible things. It's quite scary for a 19 year old to be honest. I'm going to go to the doctors but I'm sort of wondering what to expect.

Anyone feeling the same? Advice welcome please! What should I expect

hi cs
well I am not there now, but I have definitely been there,, except for the paranoia. I have never been that thankfully. but I have been psychotic and delusional. lost touch with reality. it is a very scary place to be. but I was very honest with my doctors and found the best medications for me and now I live a very normal successful life.going to the dr is hard. they will ask you a bunch of questions and you answer them as truthfully as possible. just don't tell them you are a danger to yourself or you will get locked up...lol...and sometimes drs don't ask the right questions so if they don't ask about what you are experiencing make sure to tell them everything that is going on with you. take care. welcome to psych central. you will find we have several forums where you can post about your concerns and receive feedback from other members. you will get a lot of support here. again, welcome

I am big on lifestyle changes, not as a substitute for a doctor or medicine, but like first aid when you have a wound. They stop the bleeding. If they help fine. Getting adequate but not too much sleep, eating healthy foods on a regular basis (low carb and no sugar, high protein veggie, fruit and nut, exercising regularly (yoga at youtube.com adrienne beginners), and creating a nurturing environment.
Sometimes we need to do more things that help us get out of the dark place than just going to the doctor and taking medicine but that certainly helps a great deal.
