I don't remember any really severe trauma in my life, though childhood hasn't been particularly happy and we did 'get it' (physical punishment) at times. There was stress preceding the start of voices and everything, but I don't know if it could be described as 'trauma'.
So this may be different for different people again. For some percentage, it appears to be true. |

I read something about cat parasites causing it. Again, sometimes maybe true for some but not all.

A condition like "schizophrenia" (or any other diagnosis) is so loosely defined that it is more of an umbrella of disorders with the same effects, which is why diagnosis and medication vary so much. We don't understand these things enough to make calls on it. PTSD can look similar, for instance.
Personally, I had a long series of trauma instead of a single major trauma. But really, I try to avoid looking up causes and symptoms of things before I can talk to a doctor. I feel like it is necessary to give an initial independent honest set of data and narrow down a diagnosis from that. |
