If we are talking acute style psychosis, my periods were like 1-2 months lessening in severity.

Outwith that, I was psychotic for 2 years until my symptoms cleared last but I don't think my meds were the right ones. Abilify is already lessening symptoms on 5mg but I'm still hearing voices & getting mild paranoia/delusions after 3 months now.

It's up in the air as to whether I have sz or these are drug related problems though. I'd be dx'd with sz if it wasn't for the drugs but they think the length of psychosis may point to sz. So not sure if my answer is valid or not.

On average from some symptoms to zero symptoms about three months but I've had full psychosis only for a month and a half....

I have mood episodes that last from days to weeks (not sure when this becomes "psychotic"). My delusions last hours to months. My hallucinations are frequent but usually short and usually not complex, and much less frequent on meds (so are my delusions and mood episodes). I get them even when I'm not psychotic.

My fathers have been going on for over a decade now untreated. My episode went untreated for a year. I have an imbalance that needs to be balanced. It doesn't balance itself if I have the same thing my father has, poor guy, I love him.
