Setting aside the wall of how to meet people for a moment, how do people get over the step of telling someone you like, platonic or romantic, of your diagnosis? Most people basically scream and run away like you are a serial killer.

I feel like I'm leading people on sometimes. This is something that, no matter how much I try, does control my life and impose restrictions.

I've never had any freak out at all....basically I just tell them that I sometimes hear voices but I'm on meds so I'm ok. Some of them have had similar experiences...

i break the ice by telling them a part of my illness rather than the whole thing, like PTSD or depression. If they accept that ok and things progress later when i feel the time is right i tell them i also have sz.
Thanks for this!

Haven't had this problem before but I'm single now, so my plan is to make sure whoever needs to know, knows me well enough when I tell them about it to understand that me having sz doesn't make me a bad person.
Thanks for this!
