after looking back on the sum of my health care experience, i want to suggest some basic advice for being hospitalized or seeing a psychiatrist the first time.
Reference the internet and official drug effects/side effects and effectiveness before allowing a doctor to begin treating you. if your in on a hold, they may force you to a mental health court for refusing medication. a lawyer can help you with that. But if you allow the docs to expirement it could cause distonia or tardiv disconesia, effects that cripple your physical body. as far as voices and visions. try to pass them off as nothing as much as you can until they go away or you get the right meds. This is a hard thing but it is possible. all im trying to impress is that to keep yourself intact from a doctors drug options, take hold of your health care and let them know you have control of your own part in your possible care plan. when the voices and visions first started, i was mentally trapped in a torchurous experience and the meds did nothing but cause me more pain. Until i got onto a neuraleptic medication callled clozapine. The voices were not crazy anymore and it took months for random observer voices to be heard randomly. I learned using a combination of meds and external blocks works to reduce the amount and volume. And that the triggers are tied into the pleasure centers of the brain, good blessings for anyone suffering this internal struggle. Happy Holidays! ![]()
