I've had psychotic symptoms for some time now. They were always chalked up to my bipolar disorder, and I agreed, because it did only seem to happen when I was in an episode. Well I had a psychotic episode a few months back during a stable time, and it scared me. The doc said it waas likely just a one off, caused by anxiety (I have outrageously high anxiety - I'm on ridiculously high doses of benzos for it). Well it happened again, and again...and the doctor tells me he thinks I have Schizoaffective Deisorder and put me on 20mg of Zyprexa. When I got out of inpatient, I looked up Zyprexa - he had put me on the highest dose! I am so scared. These episodes come out of nowhere, I can't gauge them like I can the bipolar. Oh god I feel like I have the worst possible dx. Bipolar one, Schizophrenia, and psychosis inducing anxiety. I'm lost. Haw for down the rabbit hole can one person go??

I understand your fear. It's a lot to take in. But being diagnosed can be nothing but good. You know you have it and you're on meds to prevent another episode. I also take 20 mgs of Zyprexa.
