I've been aboused by my parents emotionally and physically, I was bullied at school and basically I had a crally life. I've had depression since I was about 7. My depression would come and go from time to time, and I'm usually a very moody person. Lately Iwas rresearching on the internet, and I've seen an article about Schizophrenia, I've read the symptoms and it seemed exactly as I have now and when I was young. Basically I experience Hallucinations a lot, that I would hear someone screaming in the street, I would smell an odor, I would hear someone punching the door and slamming it. I would hear someone talking to me inside my head, and I've even had imaginary friends because I was a loner and I would talk to them out loud sometimes. Now I have 2 imaginary friends, even tho I'm not a loner anymore and have friends. But I still feel like my friends doesn't understand me and I don't like telling how I feel to people because I don't trust them. I also experience delusions , when I was sitting at the beach I thought I have super powers that makes me control the ever, sometimes I think that the devil controls me to do bad things. And I would imagine scary thing at night as if they are going to attack me and my heart starts beating super fast. And I'd also feel that when I'm walking in the street, I've got a feeling that someone is following me and trying to kidnap me. I would even think that there is a secret door in my room that is hidden that leads to another world, I would even imagine that I could fly. Also when I'm just laying at my bed, I've got a feeling that someone behind me is going to stab me. I never feel safe no matter what. I would also be terrified to shower because an earthquake would happen at anytime. And at class I would just sit and feel that the earth moving fast andiI can feel the movement. I also have a lack of concentration, I find it super hard to concentrate at class, even tho if I tried, I just end up daydreaming and staring at nowhere without even realizing my self doing it
I'm not sure if these symptoms are enough, I want to make sure if I have schizophrenia or not. meanwhile i have depression right now. Help?

Hello Masabelna

Thank you for introducing yourself to us. This is a great place to be for online support.

I am really glad that you are here seeking answers about yourself.

You seem to have a number of symptoms that are disruptive to your personal life.

For this reason, I really suggest that you consider the option of seeing your family doctor for a referal to a psychiatrist for further screening in order to get proper treatment for the symptoms that are causing you distress.

There are a number of Forums here at Psych Central that you are free to browse around. Consider this like your personal Library. Nobody knows what you are looking at really. I could be busy reading the novel based on the Disney Film Frozen right now - paging through the Chapter on Elsa the Snow Queen and how she finally decided to Let It Go - and you wouldn’t know.

So don’t worry about what Books your Read. You are free to Browse all you like. If you feel like it, you are free to enter a Chapter in a Book in this Library that is available to you. Research has shown that those who choose to actively Write; gain more from their experience in online forums. If you write a Chapter that contributes towards our Magnificent Library, please anticipate a response. And in doing so you unconsciously help others Browse our Special Library too and provide members unknown Knowledge that we are not alone. There are so many just like us. We all have a different Chapter to write. Or a different Book to Read. We all help keep this Library of Knowledge alive. Thank you for being a part of this.

If you need any help or support navigating the site please feel free to contact one our Community Liaisons. We will be happy to help you.

Take care.

Hooli

Welcome to Psych Central, Masabelna. Sorry you are suffering from anxiety about what your diagnosis might be. There is really only one way to know for sure: go to a psychiatrist and get a diagnosis.

Have you ever considered how diet could be affecting your moods or mental state? For me having high protein snacks or meals every 3-4 hours helps lower my anxiety level and makes some symptoms subside.

Everyone has voices in their head. When we hear voices and believe they are in the external world but when we check there is nothing there, this could be a symptom a psychiatrist would look at more closely. Hallucinations are another symptom a psychiatrist would consider. Another question is to ask you how you are dealing with life.

There are lots of compassionate people here that can make the load lighter by sharing and caring. Some people find the forums give them the compassion and empathy they seek. http://forums.psychcentral.com

Please feel free to private message me or any of the Community Liaisons by left clicking on the name in blue to the left of their post) for questions or just to share.

Welcome to PC. I second the others; the best thing to do is see a psychiatrist, i always advise against self diagnosis.

I have to agree with what everyone else has already said, if you want a solid answer you need to see a professional and get assessed. Psychotic symptoms can be caused by all kinds of conditions, not just schizophrenia. And there is such a thing as depression with psychotic features. Just a thought.

I hope you can find answers and get some help, it's obvious these symptoms(no matter what the exact diagnosis is), are causing you a lot of distress.

Take care and good luck. You can always post here when you're struggling too, Psych Central is an awesome place to get peer support from people who are going through similar things.

Welcome to PC,

I agree, it's best to be seen an evaluated by a psychiatrist and also complement those visits with a psychotherapist.
There's a forum here for Survivors of Abuse and Post Traumatic Stress.
I'd even suggest a neurologist, make sure there isn't something physically going on, such as a brain injury, even a mild concussion, later on with time can present with hallucinations.

Hope you find PC supportive and you get the assistance that you need.
