Thanks - i'm very interested in what it is people are actually experiencing - & what the best ways of helping them are.
The question of aetiology/cause has not been answered, & although it's very popular to assume that mind is brain, & that all these experiences are primarily problems with the brain - there are other theories & other ways of looking at & understanding things. i wouldn't deny the full range of physiological/biologic aspects to things - But nor would i deny the social/environmental, psychological/emotional & spiritual/transpersonal. i don't think we're just 'bags of meat' living in isolation & separation to everything else. There is far more to it all than that imo. i think a genuine shift will happen in areas of mental health when consciousness is more widely acknowledged as an intrinsic aspect/part of reality. |
