Except , its not very new , in that , phase 2 fda was completed in 2011.

It has got an odd history ; Phase 2 was for Major Depression , yet now is being clearly marketed as an AP

But I'm still intrigued. I have my doubts but really want to be pleasently surprised.

So is anyone taking this or have any thoughts on the drug.

Cheers

I'm allergic to abilify so I'm too scared to take this one. :/ I read that it's for MDD as well. I think they're just going to end up prescribing AP's for everything soon. From ADD to psychosis.

I wonder how it works for negative symptoms. I really need help with motivation and I don't want to take an ad.
Thanks for this!

yeah , from looking at its past thats where it seems to be stronger , as an adjunctive dose. but as an AP standing on its own 2 feet , I think this drug will not cut it for most. I would say people will take it but with an another AP. thats how it looks to me now.

would love to hear that it could be a stand alone AP.
Thanks for this!

No. That was geodon. Abilify gave me tardive dyskinesia.

My thoughts are it's just the next in a long line of atypical APs... it's not anything groundbreaking & is just another option. End of.

My psychiatrist told me that there is little difference between the effectiveness of atypical APs with the exception of clozapine. It's just a case of finding what works for each individual. If having a new one means there is yet another option for those who struggle to find effective APs then, great.

The timing is interesting. Abilify just recently went generic. Gotta keep pulling in those big bucks for name brand drugs.
Thanks for this!

hi,

I am currently on Clozaril and it has been the best thing I have ever done. It takes care of the anxiety and stops the voices and delusions where all others failed.

What is putting you off of it??
