A voice has been repeating for most of the bout 2 weeks off and on, that the voice wants to die. What to I tell the T? What do you think she'll say?

Hi Shadows,
I don't know what your t will say, but you do need to tell her about the voice. Tell her just what you told us. It may be that she can adjust your meds and make the voice stop. Jan

By the way, why do you think the voice is like that? What causes it, I mean? Does anyone know? Or is it just my sub councous or something like that.

I just don't know, Shadows. Please do talk to your Dr. about it. He or she will know.
Hugs, Jan

ShadowsinTheDay: A voice has been repeating for most of the bout 2 weeks off and on, that the voice wants to die. What to I tell the T? What do you think she'll say?
Here's a thought to consider ShadowsinTheDay -- it's been my experience (and that of others) who've gone through an experience of psychosis, that there is a rationale to what does go on, although it may not be immediately apparent. That's part of "our" task, to figure out what these personal experiences mean, thus bringing insight and meaning to them. It may be helpful for you to know that death is often a common theme in the experiences of those who go through psychosis. For example, in my own experience, I believed that "I" had already died; Others have felt that something within them should die. It's important to note that this theme of death doesn't necessarily relate to real, physical death -- it could be a metaphorical presentation expressing the belief that either something within you has died, or needs to die. This "something" may be an ideal; a perception; a belief structure; etc. Whatever that something is, it's probably something you hold dear and the thought of losing it or giving it up may be deeply threatening to you. It might be less threatening and perhaps insightful for you to discuss the matter with your therapist from this angle. Has something within you already died or does something within you need to die? Should you discover that there is a rational answer to those questions, the voice you hear will have fulfilled its purpose by bringing the matter to your attention.
