Synesthesia and Schizophrenia | Schiz Life

Thoughts? I have synesthesia. I see numbers/letters/days of the week and month in specific colors, I see numbers/letters/days of the week and month taking up specific spots in a visual space, I see sounds and music, and I see touch (not just the person touching me...I have a visual in my head that looks indescribable)....umm....I see orgasms as well lol. Anyone else here a synesthete, and if so, what kind?

Synesthesia is not from psychedelics. It is a "condition" I have had since I was a very little kid. Look it up online and read about it. It is not a bad thing.

I used to do something similar when I was a kid,
I could see music. That was what I remember the most and it was so beautiful. I always thought I just had an overactive imagination, but I used to R able to see songs. I lost that ability since, maybe from just age or being bogged down with antipsychotics, I dunno.

It's common in children, and most of them grow out of it. But those that don't have synesthesia.

well it is actually alot like psychedelics because being on one would cause hallucinations like seeing sounds and numbers. its why i think that. have you tried B vitamins?

Well, I don't want to get rid of the synesthesia. It enhances everything. Like I said, it's a blessing not a curse.

There is an entire school of thought (philosophy & psychiatry) that believes synesthesia is a very special gift of a well-developed intellect and creative mind. If it doesn't disturb you, be grateful for it, I say!

Me, too. Synesthesia helps organize my world and makes it brighter.

I didn't even know I had synesthesia until I was 22 years old. I thought everyone had these experiences...that it was a normal thing. The only reason I found out was because it came up as a topic when I was talking to a girl who had it and knew what it was.
