Please don't say ask your Dr. They generally don't give a damn and their knowledge is limited anyway. I want to know from people who have stopped taking this drug. How long were you on it and what made you decide to quit?
I have been on it for 4 months. I'm not sleeping as well as I used to and of course there is a little weight gain. I'm just wondering if now is the time to quit.

Has it stopped voices or delusions? They will come back, most likely, if you stop taking it.

It stopped voices and helped with anxiety. I'm not sure if I should stop taking them completely or if I should increase the dose for a time.

I wouldn't mess with something that works well, a little weight gain is manageable with the right diet and exercise and something can always be added for sleep like Trazodone

You've only been on it four months so now is a great time to change your diet and watch those carbs. I find if you nip the weight gain in the bud early you can learn to manage it quite well. As for going off them so soon I would advise against. I don't have schizophrenia but suffer with psychotic symptoms and was told I would only be on medication short term which is considered to be about 2 years, maybe more.

If it stopped hallucinations, they will come back if you discontinue the meds. I say stay on them, so far it has worked for me though with the fewest side effects. My Dr did add Atarax to help with sleep (or Ambien but I can only take that when my husband is home because we have a young child.
