Firstly, Latuda should actually reduce or to some extent prevent symptoms from appearing so it couldn't be the cause of your hallucination. It can take many weeks to have full effect though so if you've only just started it, it might not be helping much yet. Also I think that is quite a low dose too.
I take it you must have already had some psychotic symptoms since you have been put on Latuda? It could be a sign that your psychosis is worsening but then again it could just be a temporary blip. Only time will tell really. I would definitely bring it up with your psychiatrist & look out for any other symptoms that might be appearing. You might want to tell your parents as well so they can look out for things getting worse too as you might not notice some things yourself. The fact you have a relative with schizophrenia does put you at higher risk but not by a huge amount. If for example one of your parents had it, you'd have a 10% chance of developing it as opposed to a 1% chance for the general population. If it's an aunt or uncle, then it's even less and so on. It's certainly possible that you could be developing schizophrenia but that's not something we can judge over the internet. There are numerous causes of psychosis so it's hard to tell really. In fact even a psychiatrist might be hesitant to give an exact diagnosis unless it's quite apparent & even then you have to have had symptoms for over 6 months for a diagnosis of schizophrenia. Overall, I wouldn't worry too much if it's just an isolated incident but as I said it's definitely something you should bring up with your psychiatrist. As an aside, you can get natural hallucinations as you are waking up or falling asleep called "hypnagogic hallucinations" but the fact you already have some sort of psychosis & that you are talking you your stuffed animal makes me think it's probably not that.

Like the above post stated, talking to your doctor about this would be best,
I don't necessarily know how long you have been on Latuda; so therefore I couldn't exactly help with that. Nonetheless, no one over the internet can tell you whether or not you are developing schizophrenia. Only a professional could do so. ![]()

There are many types of monsters that scare me: Monsters who cause trouble without showing themselves, monsters who abduct children, monsters who devour dreams, monsters who suck blood... and then, monsters who tell nothing but lies. Lying monsters are a real nuisance: They are much more cunning than others. They pose as humans even though they have no understanding of the human heart; they eat even though they've never experienced hunger; they study even though they have no interest in academics; they seek friendship even though they do not know how to love. If I were to encounter such monsters, I would likely be eaten by them... because in truth, I am that monster.
