Banned from schizophrenia.com again for discussing spirituality & being personally attacked by other members - i said nothing flaming -
Here was what one of the mods wrote - I got involved with one of your ilk years back. There was financial damage. It affected my stability. It affected my marriage. I regard your sort as Pied Pipers, leading people away from genuine recovery. You're dangerous. It is my fondest hope that you leave this community and never come back to damage others with your rubbish in the manner I was damaged. That is 100% honesty, by the way. Nice & supportive isn't it? Their forum is very heavily biased to an orthodox biomedical brain disease view - they actively attack/ban anyone discussing any alternatives to that position. Here is the post from Admin as to why i was banned - "I appreciate that you have a very different interpretation of psychosis than modern medical / biological and psychological sciences. But we are an evidence-oriented, and scientifically oriented web site. To me, and many others here, going back to the "shamanism" and "spiritual emergency" type of interpretation of psychosis is really ignoring the past 100 years of progress in biological and neurological science. There are many religiously oriented sites that probably promote your type of "spiritual interpretation" of psychosis. Personally - I think its just rationalizing psychosis as something beneficial while it is destroying the person's life. Being out of touch with reality isn't helpful for people in the medium to longer term (though it may be enjoyable or feel good in the short term) - it prevents them from having positive and consistent stable relationships, prevents them from working, and living the live that they could. Please take your discussions of this interpretation to other sites that are more oriented towards this belief. We feel it has the potential to harm people who are here and looking for real, proven help." |

While it seems unfair, we aren't guaranteed freedom of speech on moderated forums. Luckily better alternatives such as PC exist.
