Scientists suspect the symptoms of mental illness have something to do with protecting the heart, if you don't have an episode, you would probably have a heart attack instead.

Mental illness is a natural defence mechanism for dealing with stress/fear. Once your body/brain has used this mechanism it will most likely react in the same way to excessive stress/fear.

If mental illness is a natural survival mechanism for stress, it can't be "cured", it can be prevented however with medication, therapy, diet, hobbies, rest, exercise.

There is no magical pill to stop the mechanism, but medication can help to manage some of the symptoms.
Thanks for this!
