I have found after numerous attempts to control the voices, that letting them be themselves and accepting them as part of you reduces the greatest amount of stress.

The voices are appearing inside your brain, so therefore must be of some "use". The key to this is addressing your guilt/shame issues, those are the thoughts that can become most troubling

If the voices cause little problems, why not let them stay and hopefully brighten up your day.

I created a sort of soap opera in my head with the different characters, they would even tell me that it's not real, the voices in my head would tell me that I am them in some weird detached way.

That would work only if you had good voices

Bad voices indicate you need to do some changes in your life. The voices are reflections of yourself and current state of being

I disagree you have no control over wether your voices are good or bad to think you do is delusional and not true

Ihave not had voices in two years thank god,and even then they were always kind and friendly, problem was thinking I was talking to people I know (in spirit) this would always lead to lots of confusion.it started happening again in July thought I was talking to someone I know telepathically but it stopped.
I have much more visual hallucinations/visions.
Only one time did I have a bad voice and my God was that bad,it lasted eight hours or something,I locked myself in the bathroom cause I was sure I was going to die,i don't knowhow anyone endures bad voices.my greatest sympathy.

My voices know they are hallucinations, oddly.
But damn, they want my family to know, but I want to keep the little emotion voices and they want to keep me!

Having the skill of intellectualism or analysis has helped when dealing with the voices, first I tried to fight them, then I realised these voices aren't going anywhere, so I may as well accept them.

I still want the voices to leave, the best way to cope is observe them and engage them if you can. A therapist can help explain what the voices are saying and help you to gain more insight.
