What does it mean to have a thought disorder, Is that why they are saying I am Scitzoeffective, I am trying to understand this illness

My understanding of Scitzoeffective was psychotic episodes of less then 6 months in nature. If you have psychotic episodes of longer then six months, then you are considered schizophrenic.

You are thinking of schizophreniform.....sza is like bipolar plus sz.

So I am Bipolar Scitzoeffective, Is that what I have, I don't have psychosis all the time, Usually when I am stressed out or my Depakote levels are to low or I go manic or hypo manic and have not slept in forever

Yes it would be schizoaffective bipolar type.
