As the title suggests, I suspect this is nothing, due to the fact I am aware it is a misperception..
However, last time I walked down a street (a fairly busy one, but not so crowded you had to touch anyone). I perceived every single person to be looking at me.. every single face, orientated in my direction.. staring.. naturally this creeped me the **** out, yet I knew then (and still do now) that what I could see cannot possibly be true.. because why would hundreds of people stare at me as I walk past them walking... The ones closes to me I heard mutter words like "stupid" or "disgusting" or snear at me, at the point where we were closest when they passed.. That happened on 4 occasions during this walk down the street. I am unaware of any prior events which could have triggered this (i.e. no drugs or abnormal stressors). I have not been to a doctor so have no diagnoses of any kind. Since this event (which was 2 days ago) I have left my room on 2 occasions to get some food... and haven't seen any other people.. so I don't know if there will be a repeat... My question to the kind people of Psych Central is; Do you think this could be considered a hallucination? (or a delusion.. I'm not sure which).. and what are your general thoughts? |

be careful what you let the doctors give you as far as meds. the situation you describe is known as "gagnstalking/cause-stalking". thats how my voices started. people kept making faces at me until i kept calling the cops and making reports, it ended up with the cops putting me in the hospital. a lawyer got me out the first time, but the voices became unceasing. there is a mind control program that doesnt seem to care who it attacks. dont fear them, but dont let the help cripple you. my neighbor was diagnosed years ago for hearing people talk about him, hes got tardive disconesia so bad he cant sit still. they made my neck get dystonia. lithium you can never quit. i say try taking vitamins and supplements, get excersize, change your eating habits. keep lots of plants around the house. burn sage and incense. and when you go out, just look down, dont bother with these scum. what your seeing is called "street theater".

You know intense anxiety can do weird things, it can even make you think you hear rude comments or whispering about you when you walk by people. There's a line between what's considered paranoia from anxiety and what could be considered a paranoid delusion/hallucination and there's probably some overlap between the two but only a doctor can tell you for sure what's going on.
