I talked to my mom. Like. Talk talk (I've never been close to any family member, let alone tell them my person life) about my mental illness and how my dad refuses to believe it. She told me even if it takes residential care, then I should do it. I've never even told her.. I've been looking up psych residential.. For months now. All I can do is sit here and cry because I don't want to believe things have gotten to that point.

Hi, can you get inpatient by saying you're suicidal? That's what I had to do in 2013 when I desperately needed the hospital. I'm so sorry you're have a horrible time.

Why do you need a residential psych hospital over a local psych ward?

I've never told intake I was suicidal but was never told I should do PHP or IOP. It's intake, a given, every time. I don't really know exactly, my only guess is hallucinations. I don't even know how many times I've been by this point. And I find it odd that every time, I've basically gone through two "groups" of people. Like most people stay 48 hours to maybe 5 days. I'm always there for 8-12 days. Omg. I was getting cabin fever when I was in for 12 days and not being able to go outside. The windows were tinted, so you can't see actual real sun.

Yes, I was also in for 8 to 12 days too. I still don't get why you want to go to a residential hospital?

After my inpatient stay in 2013 I was scheduled for iop, but not the time in 2010, or 2016. I forgot all about iop. In any case, I didn't go in 2013 because the transportation was going to cost too much. For some reason I guess my insurance wasn't going to cover that. So maybe it's an insurance thing.
Thanks for this!

Residential treatment is a big step. I'd definitely consider an inpatient stay first. I hope things get better for you.
