At first I was a bit skeptical and paranoia about joining a study that involves my Schizophrenia and psychotic episodes. But afterwards they turned out to be quite fun, and hopefully they'll make things better in the future.
I have done 2 studies and participating in the 3rd in 2 months. The first one was about the medicine Simvastatin (A cholesterol lowering medicine) and it's effect on the brain. Some scientists believe it has anti psychotic qualities. The other one was about speech and thought. I got a simple interview and they compare it with people who suffered from psychosis to normal people. The third study is about the difference between Schizophrenic people who hallucinate and those who don't and what might cause it.
All by all the tests are pretty fun to take part of and you even get a small compensation for them. Anyone else take part in any tests or interested in them?
Thanks for this!

I wanted to take part in studies but it didn't materialize. Now I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be helpful due to my being on meds already.

I am on my meds as well and symptom free, and the studies I did are for people who are currently not psychotic.
I think there are more studies meant for people on their meds than for people who are currently in a psychotic state. Mainly because of how difficult it would be to do a study with a person who has a lot of symptoms.
There are tons of things that are still unknown and advancements in this field go faster and faster.

If however you don't feel comfortable with it then you really shouldn't do it! The most important thing is looking out for yourself.

I don't trust studies or tests because the information could be used against me by police or anyone else who is trying to make my mcredibility bad

I thought the same thing in the beginning. But let me ask you this. If the police or another agency wants to make your credibility bad. Do you think they need actual information? I mean if they wanted to harm you they would have probably done it already.

,
I got CBT training as well for half a year during therapy. I can't stress enough how useful it is, I finally felt in control of my thoughts. Well I still had intrusions now and then but it didn't affect me as much emotionally anymore. Glad that it helped you as well.
