A woman friend who hears voices and on psychotropics called me and said she was in danger. She told me she's leaving the area because some men are after her. No idea if that's true. Now the issue is to dismiss it as being psychotic or try my utmost to check out what she says. In other words believe her.
Don't expect anyone to know what to tell me. Heck I don't know either. The reason I'm posting this is to ask the question. If someone with a history of any kind of psychosis tells you they're in trouble What would you do? I mean if what they tell you could be true. As for me I'd consider checking out their story if its possible it could be for real. |

If it doesn't hurt to check it out, there's nothing wrong with that. I don't like anyone to be dismissed just because they have a past history of psychosis, but if they aren't taking meds and haven't been showing any improvement, the likelihood of these things being real drops dramatically.

Miguel and Materly I agree with you both. I too think its wrong to dismiss a person with sz so matter how possible what they say could be true. I would be considerate.
