Does anyone have experience with psychosis and insight some have more or less than others? Is it possible to go from not having it then to be aware of something is wrong

Yes----in my case I had zero insight before meds and have pretty good insight after meds but also after realizing my first episode was made up----basically if you go through it once and figure things out even with help its easier to recognize when it's starting up again.

I'm lucky to have pretty good insight most of the time. There are times I lose it though.

Absolutely , Insight is important and it is something that can be attained.

I have had spontaneous short 'flashes' of insight while having a psychotic break that wasn't enought to pervent me to do stupid things, they were totally unhelpful. Without medication it could take months or years before I realize something wasn't real. With medication it's easier.
