I have the ability to effect the image of things directly. I know I can not actually move objects, or animate pictures and paintings. However, ever since I was a child I could make pictures animate, and objects move around slightly, and see shadowy figures, and fluctuating light flashes while in a low light environment. In a bright light environment I can cause the image of things to move, but it takes much more effort and they don't have the intricate animations the way they do in low light, but major movements such as bending the wall behind a closet instead of being able to make the clothes sway back and forth like I do in low light.

Nearly all bright light events only happen when i try to make them happen. For example I can make a heavy mist fall in my bedroom, but it only happens if I focus on it for 30 seconds or so, and once I get it going then it's easy to maintain it, and even see the mist float and blow around like on a winters day. I can make it stop though too.

Some things are involuntary, like shadow figures in low light at night, or objects appearing to move around slightly. Or wolf spiders running across my covers. I sometimes see distortions of peoples faces if I am real anxious or paranoid when in a store, i may think people are scowling at me or staring in disapproval. I have caught the image of my dead grandmother standing in the utility room, though only for a split second. I see things out the corner of my eye move quite often even in bright lit areas.

My concern is I know there are a few medical conditions that allow or cause some things very much like some of my experiences. But I have not found anything online about being able to influence visual hallucinations or illusions. Like making it mist indoors for example. Last night I tried an experiment where i turned off all the lights, except for my laptop monitor, which I opened a word processing program so the screen would be all white. I focused on it and caused the image of smoke billowing across the screen and swirling around, and then i made the screen have waves and ripples like a sheet on a clothesline blowing in the wind. When I stopped it, it stopped.

Can other people who have hallucinations effectively control or create images, or alter existing ones?

Also, I never see black with my eyes closed. I always see patterns, grids, colors, sparkling particles, and and lines. In a pitch black room with my eyes open I see the same thing. This part makes me thing it is a medical issue, but the ability to control other things makes me think it is something else.

If hallucinations come from the subconcious, is it possible that I can influence my subconsceous to make the images?

Hello mindwrench: Thanks for sharing this. It is all outside of my experience. So I really cannot offer anything useful in response to it.

The only experience I've had that is remotely close to it is that, quite a few years ago now, I had a mandala I had used on-&-off over the years as an object of meditation. It never "did" anything though. I simply focused on it while meditating. However, at one point, while I was on one of the various antidepressants I've been on over the years (I don't recall which one) the mandala suddenly became three dimensional. Whenever I would focus on it, it would have depth as well as pattern, if that makes any sense.

I didn't use that mandala all the time. And after I went off of the psych med, the mandala lost its three-dimensionality. So I presume that what I was experiencing was related to the med's I was taking at the time. But when this experience first occurred, it was a rush! Hope you are doing well...

I can. I can make things slightly move when I want. Create smoky images of what I want and I think I can hear what people think of me. I'm not sure bit it helped me find out what my cat wants. I see the shadows and the lights too. The shadows scare me. Sometimes I think they're demons.
